Interesting information from my research paper blog 7

The island I am researching is called Anguilla.Anguilla is  a British Overseas Territory in the Eastern Caribbean, comprises a small main island and several offshore islets. Its beaches range from long sandy stretches like Rendezvous Bay, overlooking neighboring Saint Martin island, to secluded coves reached by boat, such as at Little Bay.Anguilla has two predominant languages. Standard English, which has an overwhelming British impact, is the island's official language. Anguillian Creole is the other most common language. It is recognized as the "true" language of national identity. It is an English based creole which has the greater part of its words got from English and some African languages. Other less common languages used are Spanish, French, Italian, Chinese, German, and Dutch. Anguilla has a lot of amazing restaurants.. Anguilla has more than 70 eateries serving different types of Caribbean and global food. The island is outstanding for various eateries, and universally perceived wine basements and cooks furnish voyagers with a portion of the local's best culinary encounters. Dining options are very diverse in Anguilla, and travelers should choose restaurants and cuisines that appeal to them. Lobster, conch, snapper, and grouper are the islands favorite food. In Anguilla, they give you a large variety to choose from as well as to eat. the island is also very popular for music. The island has produced various popular musician like reggae, calypso, soca and nation artists. Soca is an important form of dance music with elements of soul that originally came from Trinidad. The most recent influences on Anguilla's musical life comes from elsewhere in the Caribbean, especially the music of Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica, as well as abroad, especially the music of the United States and the United Kingdom. Anguilla is a great spot to travel to for food and just  to travel and see new things and a different parts of the world

The way the authors shows how the stories are different is by describing how both women moved in the stories and they are both older women. Phyliss in the story Little Cog-Burt was a beautiful woman. She had a husband that was a business owner. They owned slaves. It was a tradition of theirs, that every year they were to cut off some of their hair. I understand maybe they didn’t want their hair to get to long and they may looked like the slaves. They felt that the slaves weren’t smart and they didn’t want them around them.

They also felt like they were stupid.  The woman felt like she was so much better than the slaves. Her husband wanted to have a party for the slaves but she didn’t want to. She didn’t want to see the black people and their skin and how they were different. They were not all the same but she couldn't blame them for getting sick and dying. She felt that they weren’t being taking care in the right way. The mother of Cog-Burt was a lady that had gave birth to a lot of kids but all them had died expect for him. They did end up having a party.

The Christmas tree that they had was something very special to them and their people. Cog-Burt was the only black boy that  noticed that the Christmas tree had an angel on it and he wanted it. So, they gave it to him.in the cotton candy machine, we learn that the women didn’t like to be alone. She had her mom in her life for several years but she died and to her, it felt like she lost a part of herself, because that all she knew was her mom.

Her mom was always there for her, so when she died, she went out to look for a job but could stop thinking about it. She had several jobs; she sold lottery tickets; sold and sew cloths .In both stories, the authors showed that woman can work and  it doesn’t just always have to be a mans job to make a decision or tell a woman what they can and can’t do. Both women really showed that they can be very independent for themselves.

Analysis Guadeloupe

During my readings on the city of Guadeloupe, I learned that it is a "sister island". Before Columbus landed there in 1493, the original people who lived there from 300 AD to the 8th century were known as the Arawak who were displaced by the group known as the Caribs starting in the 8th century until the French sent a group to settle the island in 1635. During slave the slaves would work on sugar and coffee fields. Guadeloupe is a very diverse country a lot of French and African stay there.Since the island is an overseas department of France, the official language is French. There are two main islands that make up the territory of Guadeloupe, Basse-Terre Island and Grande-Terre which are separated by a thin strip of sea which is called the Salt River.Guadeloupe is tropical island.Guadeloupe is tropical with temperatures moderated by trade winds. From January to June its hot and after that the rest of the year it's wet. The rest of the year is wet. Guadeloupe has been devastated by several hurricanes and tropical storms. It's currency is euro and it is in North America. Guadeloupe is a very good vacation spot. It is very well know for it's famous dance called the beguine which, is performed in a colorful creole dress. There are regular flights to Guadeloupe from Miami, Montreal and Paris. All the islands in Guadeloupe range from 600 square miles and it takes a minute to travel to different islands. The islands that are inside of it have a lot of different cultures, that range from music to ancient stones. Each of the islands that are a part of Guadeloupe have different cultural events. If you want to travel to it, you would have to go by a car between the two main islands. The center of the islands economy is made up by the France government service. Guadeloupe is a very amazing place to travel to and just have fun.

About me

My name is Isaiah Alexander, I like to go by Zay. I'm a student at Georgia Gwinnett College and I'm from Atlanta. I love to play video games and my favorite games to play is the basketball 2k19 and and Madden 19 the football game. My favorite thing to do is just have fun with my family and staying around the house because I do not have a lot of friends. I just love to talk although it hard for me to express how I feel to people sometimes. I only have classes on Tuesday and Thursdays and usually when I get home the first thing I try to do is start on my work for the next class to stay ahead so if I don't understand something I have time to email or talk with my instructors. I like English although sometimes things can be hard to understand, but I pray that will not be the case this semester and I pass this class with flying colors.
